I find that people seem to read just half of the information about Suboxone and stop. They really don’t take the time to understand that they have to forget their preconceived ideas about medication. This holds true even in the medical community. Patients are continuing to be hurt by doctors, therapists, rehab centers, etc by being told that they need to get off “this stuff”. Insurance companies continue to deny coverage for addiction treatment.
I think we need a cultural shift. I envision a day when treatment w/ Suboxone doesn’t need to be hidden. Think of what it would be like if co-workers and employers, family members, and doctors would encourage patients to keep up compliance with their lifesaving “medication”.
